My Favorite #Bookstagram Profiles

When I started my Instagram, I was a little worried about what to expect. Was everyone just following beauty brands? Did anyone even want to chat about books on Instagram?

You can imagine how excited I was to discover the world of #bookstagram. For the uninitiated like me, the hashtag #bookstagram is used by those people on Instagram who want to claim a space for books. It includes beautiful pictures of enviable libraries, color-coded shelves, rich covers, book reviews, bookish memes, and authors and readers connecting.

In other words, it is the most positive safe haven you can find on the internet, whether you are a reader or an author.

If you are looking to get started in #bookstagram, here are some of my favorite #bookstagrammers (disclaimer: I’m starting with 5, but there are SO MANY awesome profiles out there!)

5 Bookstagram Accounts to Follow

@probablyatthelibrary

Melissa Makarewicz is one of the kindest #bookstagrammers out there. I commented on one of her posts, and boom, she welcomed me into her fold! She is particularly interested in historical romances and anything Jane Austen. Check out her profile at @probablyatthelibrary for book reviews, bookish candles, and shout outs to some of her favorite authors.

@historical_romance_lover

As you can guess by the handle, this account is all about historical romances. Follow for book reviews, quotes, and little snacks of covers and key scenes that will whet your appetite for your next romance.

@lorlen96

Stacy Hill combines her love of books, photography, shoes, and cats in this profile. I look forward to her weekly #fridayfootstack post where she balances a stack of books on high heels. She reads widely, so check out her profile for recommendations beyond the historical romance genre.

@falling4romance

Bree keeps it real on her profile. She posts recommendations for books across the whole romance spectrum, and she’ll tell you whether she connected with the hero, how her life is going outside of reading, and how reading impacts her mood. I always look forward to a post from her!

@julia.bennet.writes

Julia Bennet posts pictures of historical artifacts, including gorgeous gowns, jewelry, and cartoons that give you a flavor for various eras. Follow her for your daily dose of history!

These accounts just scratch the surface of the most popular bookstagrammers I look forward to. What are some of your favorite #bookstagram profiles?
