My Ultimate List of Working Class Historical Romances

The stereotypical historical romance novel features starchy aristocrats falling in love with each other despite their best intentions. However, sometimes the modern reader gets tired of reading about a duke who just can’t figure out what to do with all the gold stacked in his bank account. That’s when a working class historical romance book comes in handy.

In working class historical romances, one or more of the main characters works for a living. Usually, the plot is about class differences. It might also be an aristocrat learning how hard it is to be a servant. Almost always, the reader is given a chance to sympathize with the lower class character.

Whether you want an upstairs/downstairs romance, a lady falling in love with her footman, or two hardworking individuals finding a happily-ever-after, these working class historical romance novels will delight you!

(This list is updated each time I read another great working class historical romance!)
